Cobblers lift Northaptomshire FA honourThe Cobblers Ladies lifted the County Cup after beating Moulton Ladies on penalties in the final at Raunds on Sunday.
Moulton took the lead in the 5th minute before Amy Marshall equalised on 10 minutes with a fantastic long range effort from 20 yards. The Cobblers then took the lead on the half hour mark after Georgia Tear played a fantastic one-two with Cesca Partridge to find herself free in the box and she slotted home to make it 2-1 at half time.
Moulton started the second half well and found an equaliser with an hour played before getting a third on 70 minutes to make it 3-2. Cloe Woodward came off the bench to score a thunderbolt from the edge of the box to make it 3-3 and send the game into a penalty shootout.
After both teams had scored all 5 of their penalties, Cobblers keeper Joanna Daniels pulled off a fantastic save and this left Beth Hope to score the winning penalty to secure a sudden death win for the Cobblers 7-6.
