The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town 1 Cambridge United 1
Cobblers boss Chris Wilder had mixed feelings as he looked back on Saturday’s 1-1 home draw with Cambridge.
“We are a little bit disappointed because we were close to getting another three points towards promotion but it was a fantastic finish by their lad,” he said.
“It was a stop start game and there wasn’t a great amount of quality but you have to overcome that and we nearly did.
“When you look at the other results a point is not bad and we move on to Stevenage next Saturday.
“We’ve overcome every challenge put in front of us this season; sometimes the last hurdle in a race is the hardest but the players showed again today what we are all about.
“It was a terrific atmosphere, the supporters have been magnificent right the way through this season and they have given the players an extra yard.”
