ENERGY AND FITNESS DELIGHTS CHRIS WILDER

5 March 2016

The Cobblers boss on Carlisle United 1 Northampton Town 4

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder praised the energy of his team as they ended a run of 7 games in 22 days with a 4-1 away win at Carlisle United.

“The players have produced another big effort,” he said.

“It’s been a hectic few weeks with the games we’ve had and the travelling we’ve had to do but the players have produced yet again and we’ve won quite comfortably in the end without really getting out of second gear.

“Our work rate at times today was incredible and we’ve scored four goals away from home so I can’t ask for much more.

“We go for games and we’ve won another game of football. We know the job isn’t done yet, there are still 11 games to go and lots of points to play for.

“James Collins and John Marquis were a real handful and we got a little bit more out of Lee Martin today, he set up the first goal and he was a constant threat.

“We’ve worked extremely hard to get ourselves into this position, we’ve had some real tough games through this period and the energy levels of the players has been unbelievable.”
