Cobblers boss Chris Wilder says he is not looking at the possible permutations ahead of Saturday’s game against Notts County.

Northampton Town will be promoted if they win, and if Accrington lose and Bristol Rovers don't win, but the Cobblers boss is keen to stress his side will need to win a difficult game first of all before they concern themselves with anything else.

“First and foremost we need to win and play well and then if results go our way a good day will turn into a fantastic day and we can celebrate,” he said.

“It’s an exciting time, Saturday is a big occasion and fingers crossed we will have a full house.

“Seeing the East Stand full will take it to another level and we can’t wait for Saturday.

“Notts County will come here with their tails up after a decent result on Monday and they will want to turn us over.

“They will want to end our unbeaten run but on the other side of the coin we have got a tremendous group of players who are proud of what they’ve done and who want to keep the run going.

“We had two tough games over Easter and the effort from the players to keep the run going was tremendous yet again.

“We showed our durability, strength and desire to keep adding to our fantastic points tally. The players are self motivated, self driven and all credit to them for keeping this run going.

“The last few weeks have been a bit of a limbo situation, we know we will go up and we know the stats say we might have enough points already, but we need to get over the line. We are getting closer now to putting a little P next to the name of Northampton Town.”
