Cobblers boss Chris Wilder praised AFC Wimbledon after Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw at Sixfields.
“It was an even game which both teams had big parts of,” he said.
“Wimbledon made it difficult for us and their front two were a real handful all night but when we got the ball wide we looked a threat without ever being as dominant as we can be.
“We’ve extended our lead tonight and it’s a decent situation that we are in.
“Our first aim is to go up and we will only do that by fighting hard for every single point. We’ve got a great chance but we just have to keep pushing on and make sure we finish the job off.”
