Cobblers boss Chris Wilder felt Saturday’s come from behind victory at Stevenage could be pivotal in the destiny of Northampton Town's season.

“This group don’t want to be beaten and that’s a special quality that they have got,” he said.

“We had to dig ourselves out of a hole today and it was a really difficult first 45 minutes but the second half showed why we have put ourselves in a fantastic position to win the league this year.

“We are not getting ahead of ourselves and we know we have still got work to do but this is a big, big day for us.

“Days like today are why you are involved in football and the reaction from everybody at the end was fantastic.

“At 2-0 down our supporters were louder than ever and that speaks volumes about the spirit of this football club.”
