CHRIS WILDER - 'REACTION OF OPPOSITION IS A TRIBUTE'

15 March 2016

The Cobblers boss takes opposing celebrations as a sign of standing of the club

Chris Wilder says the reaction of opposing teams shows much Northampton Town are now respected.

Cambridge United celebrated wildy when they scored a late leveller at Sixfields on Saturday and the Cobblers boss says that is a tribute to his side.

“We always want to win so we were a touch disappointed but I think Cambridge’s reaction said a lot about where we are as a football club at the moment," he said.

“They frustrated us to a point but I was pleased with the way we overcame that and how we went again after they equalised.

“I know Shaun Derry and he wants to win and the key in this league or any league is getting that level of consistency in performance and work ethic every game.

“Sides are always looking for that consistency and it’s something we have had, the work ethic in the team was fantastic on Saturday and it has been all season.”
