The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town v Newport County
Ahead of a busy Easter weekend, Cobblers boss Chris Wilder is not looking beyond the Sixfields Good Friday clash against Newport County.“It’s nice to see the seats going in and I’m sure it will be a great occasion against Notts County a week on Saturday when they are in use but we have got two very important games first,” he said.
“The Chairman and the board have put in a lot of hard work to get us to this stage and it’s just great to see things moving forward.
“On the pitch we got ourselves into a bit of a hole at Stevenage but we dug ourselves out of it and as I said afterwards that shows the mentality of the group we have got here.
“Through a season you have to win games in all different types of ways and we’ve shown we can do that.
“When we are on the canvas we get ourselves up and it was a great day for us on Saturday. It was a massive second half performance and it was a great feeling for everybody at the end.
“We understand that we are close to getting the first part of the job done which is to get promotion and we want to get a few more points towards that over the weekend.
“We’ve got a cracking game here on Friday, Newport have done exceptionally well but nothing is going to change from our approach.
“I’m sorry if it’s a bit boring but it’s just onto the next game. That’s worked for us all season and we have to keep going at full tilt.”
