Cobblers boss ready to wait to get things right
Manager Rob Page says the summer recruitment is absolutely crucial for him, and he will be patient to ensure he makes the right additions.
"We have come up a division and we have to recognise that," he said.
"The two players we have seen leave, Nicky Adams and Danny Rose, have both made the decisiion to go back to League 2 and we wish them every success with that. When you have a squad and a couple of players say they want to move on, I will support that. For us, we are at a key stage now, we want to add quality for this level and that is important.
"For me, our recruitment is about character. It isn't just about ability, it is about how a player wears the shirt, how he trains, how he is in the dressing room, and that is important for us.
"It is natural that there is interest in some of the players already here because of how well they did but we want to keep this squad together with a few additions.
"The Chairman is very supportive, I had had four or five meetings with him and he is fantastic. This club is attractive to players, it is progressing and moving forward and that appeals to players.
"Paddy Kenny is a great addition and he will really help the keepers here. Adam Smith is still very young, and he will certainly benefit from Paddy's experience and knowledge."
