ROB PAGE BELIEVES ALEX REVELL'S ADDITION IS SIGN OF A CLUB ON THE UP

18 June 2016

Cobblers boss delighted to have signed proven Championship/League 1 striker

Rob Page believes the addition of Alex Revell to the Northampton Town squad shows that the club is moving forward.

Page believes the club wouldn't have been able to attract players of Revell's calibre not so long ago, and has paid credit to Chairman Kelvin Thomas and the club for concluding the deal.

"Alex is a great addition to the club," he said.

"He scored goals in the Championship last season and has a lot of experience in League 1 and the Championship. To be able to bring him in is fantastic, he works his socks off for the team and I think he will be a popular figure here.

"A lot of work has gone into this to get the deal done so credit to the Chairman and the club for that, he had a lot of other offers on the table and we had to work hard to bring him in.

"From a work ethic point of view, and from a character point of view, Alex is just the sort of player we want to bring in. We don't want to disrupt any more than we have to with the squad who did so well last season, but Alex will add to us, he will help us and he will help improve us. His arrival will give the other boys a lift.

"His link up play is excellent, he is a big threat in the air and I know that I wouldn't want to play against him and Marc Richards as a central defender. However he is playing, he is always a 100% player and the fans here will soon recognise that.

"We will have goals in the team and we will have creativity in the team and Alex is a part of that.

"We are really happy to have brought a proven League 1/Championship striker in. We are a club on the up and Alex wants to come in and be part of that."
