RAHEEM HANLEY READY TO SHOW POTENTIAL IN SENIOR FOOTBALL

17 June 2016

Left back raring to go having played under 21 football

Raheem Hanley has said he is excited to be joining Northampton Town, and is raring to go to challenge for a place in a first team squad having learned his trade in under 21 football.

"I left Sawansea at the end of last season and learned of Northampton Town's interest," he said.

"I wanted to pursue that, I met Rob Page, had a good chat and I knew this would be the right place for me.

"He is a big inlfuence on me being here, I am sure he can help bring the best out of me.

"I followed the club's season last season, it was a special achievment and I wanted to come and be part of a club moving forward.

"I am at the age now where I need to be fighting for a place in a first team squad, I have played a lot of under 21 football but I now I want to be involved in first team games.

"Competition for places is always good as it helps bring the best out of players and I know how well David Buchanan did last season so it will be tough for me but I am looking forward to working with him.

"I like to get forward, I am firstly a defender but I also like to attack, get crosses in, get balls into the area to help create things.

"I am looking forward to pre-season, hopefully I can work hard and catch the manager's eye."
