NORTHAMPTON TOWN DOWNS SYNDROME SQUAD TAKE PART IN NATIONAL FINALS

Players do club proud at DS ACTIVE tournament

On Sunday 5th June coaches Russell, Phil and volunteers Grant and Adam took the Northampton Town Downs syndrome players to play in the DS ACTIVE tournament (activities for people with Downs syndrome) at Portway Lifestyle Centre in Oldbury.

The Cobblers were in one of the four team groups alongside Derby County, Everton and Newcastle United and although the team did not win a game they worked really well together and played some attractive football and scored some fantastic goals.

Well played Richard, Dan, Billy, Ray and Jenna.

Also a big thank you to all the parents and carers who came along to support the team

The winners of the DS Active tournament were the Charlton Braveheart’s who beat Derby in the final.

The day involved nineteen teams from all over the country and the enjoyment on the faces of the players was fantastic to see.

The Northampton Town Downs syndrome squad train most Sundays at the Goals Centre at Mereway from 10.30am to noon.
