Rob Page previews Gillingham v Northampton Town

Cobblers boss Rob Page previews Saturday’s game at Gillingham, a game that he says marks the beginning of another rough run of fixtures.

“We’ve got another tough month coming up but we said that at the start of October and we came through that okay,” he said.

“We’ve had a little bit of a break from the league and now we’ve got a tough game against Gillingham but we are full of confidence going into it.

“We are the second highest scorers in League 1 so we can take confidence from that and I think we’ve just started showing signs of marrying that up with defensively being hard to beat.

“Gillingham have been on a difficult run but we know that at any given time any team can turn things around.

“I thought they were excellent last season and I’m sure Justin Edinburgh will turn things around there, we just need to make sure it isn’t on Saturday.

“We’ve got to respect what they’ve got from an attacking point of view but also exploit their weaknesses.

“Irrespective of the opposition it’s about us recreating a level of performance week in week out, we can’t influence what the opposition do but we can our own performance.

“We can’t rest on our laurels, we need to be ruthless now and keep that level of consistency.”
