ROB PAGE LOOKS AHEAD TO NUNEATON TOWN TEST

12 July 2016

Page previews the trip to Liberty Way

Manager Rob Page is looking forward to giving his players more minutes on the pitch as Cobblers take on Nuneaton Town on Tuesday evening.

Having overcome Sileby Rangers 3-0 on Saturday with no fresh injury concerns, Page is looking to slowly step up the workload on his players.

“The games come thick and fast in pre-season and the first two weeks are always hard,” he said.

“We will keep stepping it up gradually and there are always going to be things that we need to work on.

“Adam Smith wanted to play on Saturday but I don’t see the point of taking unnecessary chances.

“It was the first game and he was only going to play 45 minutes anyway but after he turned his ankle on Friday we thought it best to give him a rest on Saturday.”
