Wilkinson looking forward to Sileby Rangers test
Assistant manager Paul Wilkinson is excited by the prospect of getting the pre-season schedule underway this weekend.
The Cobblers travel to Sileby Rangers on Saturday for a 2pm kick-off at Fernie Fields and Wilkinson is looking forward to seeing the team in action.
He said: ‘’The first games always come around really quickly. Everybody always counts down the weeks whilst there’s no matches and before you know it the first game is upon you.
‘’It’s a nice game for us and obviously it’s a good one for the community with it being at a local team like Sileby Rangers.
‘’It gives the fans and the players the opportunity to mingle and get together and it gives the supporters the opportunity to see one or two of the new players as well.
‘’It’s good pre-season preparation. The big thing for us is getting the players some minutes, getting them back on the football pitch and getting the touch and feel of the ball again. We’ll work all week, go into the game and then do the same next week.’’
