PAGE PLEASED WITH NUNEATON WORKOUT

14 July 2016

Cobblers boss looking back on Tuesday night

Cobblers boss Rob Page felt Tuesday night’s game at Nuneaton was another good work out for his side as they stepped up their pre-season campaign.

“It was another great work out for us,” he said.

“No disrespect to Sileby but it was a step up from Saturday and they gave us a really good test.

“We are only two weeks into pre-season and Nuneaton was only our second game.

“We played a couple of the youth team which was good experience for them and that’s all part of their development process.

“We took Raheem Hanley off as a precaution after he felt his thigh and we will monitor that but we had no hesitation in taking him off because like with all of the players we don’t want to take any risks.

“Brendan Moloney and Jason Taylor both had little niggles after the game on Saturday and with Brendan it’s important that we are patient. He had a long term injury last season and we need to build him up to match fitness.

“We are still looking to add to the squad and hopefully in the next week or so we will see some fresh faces.”
