Huge demand expected for Fleetwood Town tickets when sales begin
Despite huge interest in Northampton Town's first few home league games, the club are yet to put match tickets on sale for the new season, and Chairman Kelvin Thomas has been explaining why.
The club have invested in a new access control system that will be up and running for the Fleetwood Town game, and the Chairman feels that both the supporters and the club will benefit.
"We haven't put tickets on sale yet as we are implementing an access control system which will mean supporters will be able to print tickets at home," he said.
"This will be a huge step forward for the club. The ticketing system here was OK, but we have invested heavily to make sure we improve that and having access control will help the club, it will help supporters and we believe it will encourage supporters to buy tickets online.
"We have a lot of big games this season and we know in the past there have been big queues for tickets for the big games. The new system should make life a lot easier for supporters and mean they can buy their tickets without the queues. Tickets haven't gone on sale yet but we are getting a lot of demand for Fleetwood tickets and that is great to see. Season tickets have been fantastic and a lot for that is to do with people concerned they may miss out with the level of interest flying around for the new season. There are so many big games, MK Dons, Peterborough United, Bolton Wanderers, Charlton, Coventry, Sheffield United, Oxford and more, it will be a really exciting season.
"Fleetwood may be a month away but already supporters are ready, they want tickets, they want to secure their seat, and that buzz is fantastic.
"Fans are starting to see what we are doing, we are making improvements around the stadium, there is a lot of painting and signage work that has been done, we have added exits to the male toilets in the West Stand to ease the congestion and all of the little changes add up to some very worthwhile improvements. Parker's Decorating have done a fantastic job of brightening the place up - the Players Lounge has been improved, the club shop is much better and we have seen a big increase in footfall there."
