Club strengthen Academy coaching structure

Northampton Town have made a number of new appointments to further strengthen the coaching infrastructure within the club's Academy.

A new addition to the staff is Jon Brady who will take charge of the under 16 team. Jon, a UEFA A licenced coach, was previously manager of Brackley Town and has managed his own football development centres across Northamptonshire and beyond through his Back of the Net company.

Matt Chart is now the club's Lead Phase Foundation Coach, overseeing age groups 8 to 11 while Lee Garlick is the Head of Coaching of the Lead Youth Development Phase (12-16). Mark Lyons is the Professional Development Phase Coach and will oversee the under 18 team.

"These changes further strengthen an already very strong coaching group," said Academy Manager Trevor Gould.

"We are delighted to bring Jon Brady on board, he has a vast knowledge of local youth football and plenty of experience that he can share with the players.

"Mark, Lee and Matt are existing members of staff who do fantastic work with the young players and we feel this group of coaches, backed up by our fantastic group of volunteer coaches, offer young footballers in Northampton the best possible chance of progressing through to be professional footballers.

“I am delighted with the quality and strength in our Academy structure.”
