WORKING WITH THE BRIDGE PROGRAMME FOR CHANGING GOALS

5 January 2016

Programme resumes on January 15th

Northampton Town's Football in the Community scheme in partnership with The Bridge programme run a football project called Changing Goals

The Bridge programme is a substance misuse programme, based in Northampton but working throughout the county. For its mentoring programme, The Bridge recruits, trains and supervises volunteers who have had drug or alcohol problems themselves, or close contact with people who have. They act as mentors or support workers to clients with drug or alcohol problems.

The aim is to help them deal with their substance misuse by providing practical support in relation to social aspects which impact negatively on their lives.

The Bridge also offers clients the chance to take part in sporting and other activities as well as offering assistance with education, training and/or employment.

Changing Goals takes place every Friday, it starts again on 15th January, at the Racecourse, please meet outside the changing rooms. The coaching is from 12pm to 1.30pm.

For more information about Changing Goals please contact Russell Lewis by email at russell.lewis@ntfc.tv

During the season The Bridge play against other teams and in Football Festivals organised by Northampton Town FITC and the Northants FA. Just before Christmas a Heads up Festival was organised at Kettering Leisure Village and teams represented Northampton Town, The Bridge, Peterborough, Welland Hospital Kettering and other teams made up of individual players.  The festival was won by Peterborough.
