RUN OUT FOR SOME OF SQUAD IN WIN AT STEVENAGE

26 January 2016

Behind closed doors work out on Tuesday

Northampton Town travelled to Stevenage for a behind closed doors friendly match on Tuesday afternoon.

The Cobblers won the game 3-0 with goals from Lee Martin, Sam Hoskins and Nicky Adams in a performance that pleased assistant manager Alan Knill.

"In this two week break between games we wanted to get some minutes into the legs of a few of the boys," he said.

"Those involved showed a fantastic attitude and turned in an excellent performance, we were really pleased with them.

"Some of the boys who have been on the bench haven't played for a few weeks so it was important to keep them sharp and ready as we will be entering a busy period for the first team when we resume matches a week on Saturday."

As well as Martin, Hoskins and Adams, Ryan Clarke, Josh Lelan, Evan Horwood, Ryan Cresswell, Rod McDonald and Jason Taylor all featured, along with some of the youth team.
