Chris Wilder on this week's defensive addition to the squad
Cobblers boss Chris Wilder was delighted to complete the signing of Luke Prosser this week, a player he has been tracking since last summer.
“We are really looking forward to working with Luke for the rest of the season and hopefully beyond,” he said.
“His contract at Southend is up in the summer so it’s a good chance for both parties to have a look at each other but he’s a player who I’ve always been impressed with.
“He’s a good player at this level and if we achieve our aim I believe that he can be at the next level up as well.
“He’s developed his game over the last three or four years, he’s a good athlete with a good left foot and I think he’s a great signing for us.
“It’s important that we have good competition all over the pitch and we do like to set up with a good balance of left and right footers in the team.
“We always do background checks on all our signings and it is important that any player we bring in has the mentality of what we are about. Luke is a winner and he definitely adds to the group going into the second half of the season.”
