CHRIS WILDER PRAISES ATTITUDE OF PLAYERS AFTER WIN OVER MORECAMBE

The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town 3 Morecambe 1

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder praised the attitude of his team as he reflected on Saturday’s 3-1 home win against Morecambe.

“We had to make sure that we were right today because we can’t just expect to turn up here and win games of football,” he said.

“There is an expectancy here at the moment but the players put in a fully professional performance and in the end I thought it was quite a comfortable and convincing home victory.

“We dominated possession, moved the ball around well and it’s another big three points.

“We started off really well and the front four were all very positive. James Collins and Lee Martin have bolstered us and they both played their part today.

“We will be working hard through the break but hopefully when we come back here against York in two weeks time we will be refreshed and ready and raring to go again.

“We’ve got 9 home games left now and if we win a good chunk of those then we will put ourselves in a fantastic position.”
