Cobblers boss pleased with make up of squad
Cobblers boss Chris Wilder says he is pleased with he business he has conducted in the January transfer window with the signings of James Collins, Lee Martin and Luke Prosser.
“They are three good characters and they fit in well with the way we play,” he said.
“They are good athletes and they all have good experience. James and Luke have won promotions and Lee has played at a higher level.
“It’s important that we have players with that experience going into the last 19 games because there will be big pressure games and we need players who can get us through that.
“Lee is only here for a month as it stands but we are always talking.
“If he is only here for a month then we will get the most out of him in that time but if he’s here for longer then I think that would benefit the player and ourselves.
“If we are going to achieve then we need good players in both boxes and we need competition.
“Bringing in Luke gives us 8 defenders and it’s important that we do have that cover.
“Apart from one long term injury in Paul Corry we’ve got a fit healthy squad, it’s not massive in terms of numbers but we’ve got a good balance and I’m pleased with the quality.”
