CHRIS WILDER - 'WE WILL USE THIS BREAK WISELY'

25 January 2016

Cobblers boss determined to take maximum from 14 day gap between games

Northampton Town manager Chris Wilder says it is important that they use the enforced two week break from action wisely.

“Of course we would love to be playing Chelsea on Sunday but that’s not the case and we have to now make the most of this two week break," he said.

“The players have been training and working hard and this break will give the players who are carrying little niggles and knocks some time to rest and get themselves right for the run in.

"We had a meeting late last week to plan for these two weeks, we won't just fritter them away, we will make sure we work on things and those who need the rest and who need a break to be refreshed are looked after.

“It’s going to be a hectic next fourteen weeks and we need to try and keep the squad fit and fresh.

“Paul Corry is the only long-term injury we have at the moment and hopefully we will have everyone else back for the York game.”
