The Cobblers boss on Dagenham & Redbridge 1 Northampton Town 2

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder was delighted as he reflected on the 2-1 victory at Dagenham.

“It was a difficult game for us today but we’ve managed to come through it and it’s a big three points for us,” he said.

“We were maybe a bit fortunate to be level at half-time but we upped our standards in the second half and Marc and Ricky coming on gave us a lift.

“The spirit of the side is absolutely immense and there will be times like today where we need to dig in and hang on in games.

“All the qualities that you need in a side going for promotion we had today and I thought we were good value in the second half.

“I’m absolutely convinced that under John Still Dagenham will be okay and I wouldn’t want to be coming here at the back end of the season needing a result.”
