Kelvin Thomas happy with on and off field events as he looks forward to Saturday's sell out FA Cup tie
Chairman Kelvin Thomas has said he is delighted with the progress the club is making, both on and off the pitch.
Results on the field have been excellent, and the Chairman says he enjoys watching this team play.
“I’m really pleased and the more you watch the squad the more you can see the spirit and the strength we have in terms of quality," he said in a Cobblers Player interview earlier this week.
“I think we are an exciting team to watch and when we get the ball and go forward we have a real energy."
The Chairman has also seen a succession of large crowds at Sixfields, with home fans being housed in the South Stand for the visit of Accrington Stanley and the MK Dons FA Cup tie on Saturday selling out.
“The fans have been fantastic and the fact we were able to open up the away end to home fans for the Accrington game was excellent," he said.
“We are trying as a club to make small improvements to the matchday experience.
“We’ve introduced the fans village and that will be back on Saturday and slowly but surely we are going to make improvements.
“Football has changed quite a bit and we as a club need to make sure that we keep up with that.
“I’m looking forward to the Open Forum on Thursday, I enjoy those sort of events and it’s a good way to get some immediate feedback in terms of what’s good and what’s bad.
“I talk to a lot of people at the games here and I like to hear the good and the bad.
“Things aren’t going to be perfect, they never are, but we just need the fans trust that we are working hard to make them better."
The Chairman also admitted he is looking forward to Saturday's sell out Emirates FA Cup tie with MK Dons.
“I’ve always enjoyed the FA Cup no matter what round it is.
“There is always that dream in there and we are looking forward to it.”
