All the team news ahead of Northampton Town v MK Dons

Alfie Potter could come back into the Cobblers squad for Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup third round tie against Milton Keynes Dons.

“Alfie had a little nick to his ribs,” said boss Chris Wilder.

“He was pretty uncomfortable in that area so we felt it wasn’t worth taking the risk against Barnet but hopefully he’ll be back for Saturday and if not then for Plymouth on Tuesday.

“We changed things up a bit last Saturday as I have to do as a manager and with the run we’ve got coming up I will have to use the whole squad.

“The players know it’s not about them, it’s not an individual sport, this is a team group effort.

“Whatever happens over the next few months and whatever we achieve it’s going to be done as a group effort.

“It is a tough job at times and players will be disappointed through this period but they are together as a group and they recognise that.

“The players that don’t play all 46 games are sometimes the ones that get you over the line and we’ve got players who are willing to overlook individual glory for the sake of the group.”
