ZANDER DIAMOND AVAILABLE FOR LEYTON ORIENT TRIP

12 February 2016

The team news ahead of Leyton Orient v Northampton Town

Zander Diamond has been passed fit for the trip to Leyton Orient after taking a knock to the head in last Saturday’s win against York.

“Zander will be fine,” confirmed boss Chris Wilder.

“We spoke to the medical staff after the weekend and he should be fine to play on Saturday.

“Zander wanted to stay on last weekend but Doctors make important decisions and we aren’t going to take any risks regardless of whether or not the player wants to stay on.

“Zander wants to play every minute of every game as all the players do but we are comfortable with the decision that was made. The health and safety of our players is paramount.

“Lawson D’Ath is fit but there are only so many spots we can fill and I wanted Luke Prosser and Danny Rose to be involved at the weekend. We have to cover all bases and Danny can play in numerous positions.

“Alfie Potter has had a bit of an interrupted season and we won’t take any risks with him. He has still got a big part to play but we have to make sure that he is fit and ready to see out the season.”
