The team news ahead of York City v Northampton Town
During a hectic run of seven games in 22 days, Cobblers boss Chris Wilder is keen on having competition for places and keeping the team fresh.
“The competition is intense but the players are driving each other forward,” he said.
“The forward players we’ve got expand a lot of energy and that is something we have got to be mindful of.
“We have done that already by leaving players out in certain games, they’ve not been dropped but it’s important we keep the players at the top of the pitch fresh.
“We are in a busy run of games at the moment but we have got options and we will change things round if and when we need to.
“Alfie Potter has been working hard and is back training but we don’t want to rush him back before he’s ready.”
