JANUARY BUSINESS DELIGHTS CHRIS WILDER

Chris Wilder reflects on the January 2016 transfer window

Northampton Town manager Chris Wilder has declared himself delighted with the club's January transfer window business.

Four players - James Collins, Lee Martin, Luke Prosser and Danny Rose arrived, with Evan Horwood, Chris Hackett, Ryan Watson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin departing.

“I’ve been in the game for quite a while now and I don’t think the window could have gone any better," said Wilder.

“All four signings are really good additions to a really good group.

“The Chairman has backed us and in every deal we’ve done we’ve got really good value for money, and that is important. We haven't, and never will be, reckless or silly. We have to be sensible and I think most people understand that.

“Evan Horwood has gone out on loan but I don’t think that leaves us too short in that position and it’s not something that concerns me. Luke Prosser, Rod McDonald, Joel Byrom and Danny Rose can all play there if needed and if David Buchanan were to be out for a while we could look at the loan market.

“The group now is as strong as it has been all season and that’s a good place to be going into the last 19 games of the season.”
