Club saddened to learn of passing of former player

Northampton Town are saddened to learn of the passing of former player Graham Moore.

Graham achieved a unique double for club and country; he scored a last minute equaliser on his debut for both Cardiff and Wales although it was to be his only international goal in 21 appearances for his country.

He helped Cardiff into Division One and then achieved another double. He left Cardiff in December 1961 for Chelsea, Cardiff finished 21st and were relegated, Chelsea finished 22nd and went down with them.

He then helped his new club back into Division One before joining Manchester United.

Sadly first team opportunities were far and few between at Old Trafford and when Dave Bowen, his Welsh team manager offered him first team football at the County Ground, Graham joined the Cobblers.

Sadly two relegations in two seasons was enough for the Welshman who declared that he did not want to play in the Third Division and moved on to Charlton.

He gave Charlton three seasons and while there he was recalled for Wales winning his first cap for three seasons.

Graham wound down his career with Doncaster before becoming a publican first in Scarborough and later in York.
