The Cobblers boss on York City 1 Northampton Town 2

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder praised the attitude of his side as he reflected on Tuesday night’s 2-1 victory at York.

“It's games like tonight where you really need to knuckle down and focus and we’ve overcome another tough challenge,” he said.

“We’ve managed to get another win on the road which is great, we are on a great run and we just look to go out to try and win games of football.

“We mixed the team up a bit tonight and I thought John Marquis was outstanding. John-Joe O’Toole has a bit of a tight thigh but Jason Taylor came in and he can be delighted with his efforts.

“We’ve compiled a really good group of players and they are all driving each other on but I’m not afraid to make changes if their standards drop.

“We’ve had a really heavy month with the games we’ve had but the players keep coming through.”
