CHRIS WILDER LOOKING TO ROUND OFF BUSY WEEK WITH ANOTHER GOOD PERFORMANCE

19 February 2016

The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town v Wycombe Wanderers

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder is hoping to back up two good results on the road in Saturday’s home game against Wycombe.

“It’s been a great week for us so far with two great performances and two great results,” he said.

“We knew this was a big heavy week for us and we go into another tough game on Saturday looking for another positive result.

“It was a fantastic result at Leyton Orient and against Oxford it was a controlled, professional performance. We went there with a game plan and we did a job on them.

“We’ve had some fair old battles with Wycombe and Gareth Ainsworth maximises what he does with his group to great effect.

“No doubt they will come here and play the underdog tag which I get but knowing Gareth there will be no other team more determined to stop the run we’re on.

“We are at home and we believe in the way we play and however a team sets up to play against us we just have to get on with it.

“I think we rattled Oxford a little bit on Tuesday night and maybe got a bit under their skin but that is part of the game.

“Football is a physical, tactical, technical and mental game and we’ve shown good signs and good qualities in all four of those departments so far this season and we need to make sure we continue to do that over the next 16 games.”
