ALAN KNILL - 'TWO GOOD TEAMS SHOULD MAKE FOR A GOOD SPECTACLE'

The Cobblers assistant boss ahead of Oxford United v Northampton Town

Assistant manager Alan Knill previews Tuesday night’s trip to Oxford, a game he is very much looking forward to.

“It seems like every game since October has been a big game and Tuesday night is no different,” he said.

“Both teams will want to win for different reasons, we are two good teams and it should be a good spectacle for everybody.

“We won’t prepare any differently and we know that if we are at our best, then as we’ve shown, we are more than capable of giving anybody in this league a game.

“Oxford are a good footballing side and they have done well this season but as has been the case all season, it’s all about what we do.

“It was an excellent display against really good opposition on Saturday and the way we took the game away from them in the second half was really pleasing.

“Orient made it difficult for us in the first half but we showed our belief and desire and the response we got from the players in the second half was excellent.

“Obviously we have got some players who grab the headlines but we always emphasise that it is about the team and not just about individuals. Saturday was a great example of that because we had to work really hard in the first half and the contribution of everybody is so important.”
