Cobblers boss previews Tuesday's rearranged Emirates FA Cup tie

Cobblers boss Rob Page previews Tuesday night’s re-arranged Emirates FA Cup second round tie away at Stourbridge, and says his side are looking to build on Saturday's win at Port Vale.

“The foundations of hard work and commitment have been there, it’s been a frustrating few weeks but we knew if we kept going it would turn for us and it certainly did on Saturday,” he said.

“We did the donkey work really well on Saturday and that will definitely hold us in good stead going to Stourbridge.

“Stourbridge won again at the weekend and I’m sure they will be confident and looking forward to the game. We’ve got to make sure that we are at it and our attitude has to be spot on from the word go.

“It’ll be a difficult pitch but we’ve just got to approach the game with the same mindset we did on Saturday. There will be periods in the game where Stourbridge will come at us and we need to stand up to that.

“They are a threat going forward so we will need to nullify that but there are enough experienced players in our team and even some of the younger lads will have played in games like this before.

“We need to match their work rate and endeavour and if we do that then hopefully our quality will come to the top.”
