O'TOOLE COMPLETES SUSPENSION AND MISSES STOURBRIDGE TRIP

13 December 2016

Midfielder serves second of a two match ban with Brendan Moloney missing with a knee injury

The Cobblers have no fresh injuries heading into Tuesday night’s Emirates FA Cup tie  at Stourbridge while John-Joe O’Toole serves the second game of his two-match ban.

Zander Diamond, Brendan Moloney and JJ Hooper are all still sidelined through injury.

“Everybody is okay from the weekend,” confirmed boss Rob Page.

“It was a heavy pitch at Port Vale so we’ve got a couple of stiff bodies purely from the effort they put in but they will recover well and be ready for Tuesday night."

One player who is catching the eye is youth team striker Joe Iaciofano who has already scored 20 goals this season.

“Joe would have been in the squad for the original game that was postponed because we had a couple of little niggles that day and he will certainly be part of our squad going forward," said Page.

“He’s scoring goals for the youth team, he’s got a real eye for goal and he’s training with the first team now on a daily basis.

“Training with the first team has brought him on again from a physical level and that will help with his development.

“If you’ve got someone scoring goals you can’t ignore it and I’m not afraid to look at what we’ve got in the youth team and promote players.”
