Final EFL Youth Alliance action of 2016
The Northampton Town under 18s welcomed Leyton Orient to Moulton College on Saturday morning in their final EFL Youth Alliance fixture of 2016.
James Hammond scored for the Cobblers in a narrow 2-1 defeat against the league leaders, who remain unbeaten.
“It was a pleasing performance against a very good side,” said Professional Development Phase coach Mark Lyons.
“They are unbeaten all season but we created some good chances and in the end we’ve paid the price for a couple of lapses in concentration.
“It wasn’t quite the result we wanted to end the year but overall it was another positive performance.”
