COBBLERS SCHOOL TAKEOVERS FEATURED IN ANNUAL PFA COMMUNITY REPORT

8 December 2016

Club held up as an example in annual report

Northampton Town are featured as an example of fine community work in the PFA's 2015/16 Community Evaluation report.

The report details that almost 40,000 community visits were made by professional footballers in the 2015/16 season, with a particular feature on Northampton Town's school takeovers featured on page 43 of this season's report.

The school takeover days see the club spend a whole day in the chosen school, coaching the youngsters and helping out with lessons while later on in the day some of the players and the League 2 trophy pay a visit. There is also the opportunity for parents and pupils to purchase tickets at a special rate to attend the following home game, with a feature on the school in the match programme.
