EFL Youth Alliance action
The Northampton Town under 18s travelled to Southend United on Saturday morning in the EFL Youth Alliance.
The game ended 2-2, Joe Iaciofano scoring twice as the Cobblers continued their unbeaten run.
“It was a really good game against one of the best and in-form teams in the league,” said Professional Development Phase coach Mark Lyons.
“The lads showed good character to come from 2-0 down and we had chances to win the game.
“Overall it was a good team performance and reward for the lads' continuing hard work. We need to cut out the individual errors but it’s good to continue the unbeaten run.”
