UNDER 18S GAME AT CAMBRIDGE ABANDONED

13 August 2016

EFL Youth Alliance action

The Northampton Town under 18s travelled to Cambridge United on Saturday in the EFL Youth Alliance.

The Cobblers were 2-0 up when on 75 minutes the game  was abandoned.

Goals from Ben Toseland and Ethan Lamptey had given Town the lead but the referee brought the game to a premature end when two players, the Cobblers' Jarvis Wilson and Cambridge’s Leon Davies, had to be stretchered off.

“It looks like Jarvis has broken his leg and obviously our thoughts are with him and their player Leon Davies right now,” said Professional Development Phase Coach Mark Lyons.

“It was a good game up to that point and we just hope both players are okay.

“It’s never nice seeing players go off the field like that and we wish both Jarvis and Leon all the best in their recovery.”
