EFL Youth Alliance action
Northampton Town’s under 18s kicked off their EFL Youth Alliance campaign on Saturday with a trip to Gillingham.
Despite goals from Joe Iaciofano, James Hammond and Lewis Irwin the Cobblers were beaten 4-3.
“We went 2-0 down early on which was a disappointing start to the game,” said professional development phase coach Mark Lyons.
“The players showed good fight to come back from that but we need to be better in both boxes.”
