ROB PAGE: 'OLDHAM ARE A CLUB ON THE UP'

16 August 2016

Rob Page previews Oldham Athletic v Northampton Town

Cobblers boss Rob Page has plenty of respect for Tuesday night’s opponents, Oldham Athletic.

“Oldham were a club on the up towards the end of last season and there are a lot of tough games in this league,” he said.

“The new manager is putting his own stamp on things and having watched their game from Saturday I thought they were unlucky not to beat Walsall.

“We will respect them but once again our message to the boys is that it’s about us and if we can keep recreating the same levels of performance then we stand a good chance of winning the game.

“Alfie Potter got into some great positions on Saturday and I thought his work rate was unbelievable. He’s not had a great pre-season because of injury but he is going to get better and better as the games go on.

“Alfie has got ability and undoubtedly there is a lot more to come from him. We’ve seen it in training and in glimpses in games and our aim is to get him chipping in with the goals as well.

“His movement and enthusiasm are already there and once you’ve got that you can work on everything else.”
