Rob Page reflects on Northampton Town 1 Fleetwood Town 1
Cobblers boss Rob Page took plenty of positives from the opening day draw with Fleetwood Town.
“I thought there were a lot of positives and we created more than enough chances to win the game,” he said.
“”We kept the ball well at times and Matty Taylor’s experience in midfield allowed us to dictate the play. The players tired a little bit towards the end but they gave me everything.
“Overall I’m pleased with the performance and it’s a good start but we just need to be a bit more clinical and ruthless in front of goal.
“Hopefully the supporters can see what we are trying to do and there were definitely a lot more positives than negatives today.
“There is room for improvement but they are a good group and they are willing to learn.”
