Northampton Town travel to Barnsley for their EFL Cup first round tie on Tuesday night with Brendan Moloney, Raheem Hanley and Jack McCourt still missing through injury.

New loan signing, Barnsley defender Lewin Nyatanga, is unavailable for selection.

“We have got a similar squad to choose from,” confirmed boss Rob Page.

“You are always going to get some little niggles here and there after the first game but we will assess the group and go from there.

“I want to win every game and if I do make changes then it will be for the benefit of the team. Whether it’s tactical or due to injuries we will put an eleven out there that we think can win the game.

“I’d like to keep a settled team but if we need to make changes we are creating a squad now where we can do that and still be able to compete at this level.

“In an ideal world we’d like another couple of bodies in, it’s a frustrating process at times but we just have to keep going and make sure that we get the right people in.

“We are confident that we will but we have got a little bit of time and we just have to be a little bit patient.”
