Brendan Moloney and Jak McCourt both came through Tuesday night’s game unscathed having made their first start this season.

“I thought Brendan and Jak were outstanding on Tuesday night,” said boss Rob Page.

“John Harbin has got to take a lot of credit for that and one thing we wanted to change was the time for a player coming back from injury to being match fit.

“The players were up to speed straight away, we work their socks off and if we hadn’t done that I don’t think we would have got 90 minutes out of Brendan and 70 out of Jak.

“I know John’s qualities, he played a big part for me at Port Vale last season and he’s a tremendous asset for this club to have.

“The personnel that came in on Tuesday made a real difference and that competition all over the pitch is what we want.”
