SATURDAY'S POSSIBILITIES

8 April 2016

What do the Cobblers need to happen to be mathematically promoted on Saturday?

Northampton Town could be mathematically promoted on Saturday.

The Cobblers currently lead 4th placed Plymouth Argyle by 16 points 6 games to play. This means, if the Cobblers beat Bristol Rovers at Sixfields, the Cobblers will return to League 1 after seven seasons in League 2, whatever happens elsewhere.

A draw will be enough, as long as Plymouth, Accrington and Portsmouth don't win. In fact, the Cobblers will be promoted as long as they equal or better the results of Plymouth, Accrington and Portsmouth.

The Cobblers could also secure the League 2 title if they win and Oxford United don't.

Chris Wilder's side will be backed by a huge crowd on Saturday, and we would like to say a big thank you for your support. Tickets can be purchased from Sixfields or by calling 01604 683777. You can also buy online via www.ntfcdirect.co.uk if you were registered with that site before Monday.
