Football League Youth Alliance action
Northampton Town’s youth team continued their Football League Youth Alliance Merit Division campaign on Saturday with a trip to Oxford United.
The Cobblers had the better of the game before succumbing to a late goal in a 1-0 defeat.
“It’s difficult this time of year against older groups but it was another really encouraging performance and the game should have been out of sight,” said Lead Foundation Coach Mark Lyons.
“Our performance deserved more and to lose to a late sucker punch was harsh.”
