Club delighted to receive email from manager of care home for young people
We were delighted to receive the below email after Saturday's game with Bristol Rovers. This is reproduced with kind permission of both the family and the care home.
First of all I would like to say congratulations on promotion, you have done our town proud.
I am manager of a care home for young people with complex Autism and challenging behaviour.
One of our residents who has not been with us that long has a big passion for the Cobblers so we decided to see how he got on at a match.
This young man has experienced a very sheltered life due to the difficulties he experiences so for him to attend a football match is a massive achievement
So far he has been three times to Sixfields and enjoyed it better and better each time.
This is part of some work we are doing with him towards social skills, teaching him when he can be loud and when he can be quiet so he also visits the library where he has to be quiet which is not an easy task.
On his third trip on Saturday 9th April he went on to the pitch with his staff to celebrate with the team on their promotion.
I want to say a massive thank you to David Buchanan who took the time to celebrate with our young person when he noticed that he had staff with him and he had special needs.
This really made this young person’s day and he now has this photo on his bedroom wall and he will now be a regular supporter at your home games.
Could you please pass on a big thank you to David Buchanan please.
