The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town 2 Notts County 2

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder praised his side as they took a point from Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Notts County.

“We played well against tough opposition,” he said.

“It was a tough game, we had a go and we could have possibly won the game in the last ten minutes.

“We were desperate to win the game and it certainly wasn’t for the want of trying.

“It wasn’t a free flowing performance but Ricky Holmes always gives us a spark. He has been excellent for us and he always comes up with the goods.

“Today was maybe a big ask for everything to happen and with the other two sides at home I always thought it was probably a bit unlikely.

“It wasn’t to be today and we move on to next week.”
