CHRIS WILDER - 'WE PLAYED SOME REALLY GOOD STUFF'

19 April 2016

The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town 2 Crawley Town 1

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder praised the performance of his side in Tuesday night’s game, the League 2 Champions returning to Sixfields with a 2-1 victory against Crawley.

“We played some really good stuff tonight,” he said.

“The team performance was full of energy and we moved the ball around well against stubborn opposition.

“We could have stretched the lead a bit more but I think it’s been a really good night for us.

“The front four were difficult to play against, it was a real big effort and a great performance.

“This team plays and excites and wants to entertain but the key to it is the work ethic."

Asked about Brendan Moloney’s absence, Wilder added:

“Brendan has had a few issues with his knee recently and we will have to have a look at that again before the weekend but I don’t think Josh Lelan let anyone down tonight.”
